"We love What We Do"
Every thread tells a story of tradition, skill, and passion. For us, working with Pashmina isn’t just a job; it’s a craft handed down through generations. We’re inspired by the ancient art of transforming the finest Himalayan wool into timeless pieces.
From the delicate process of hand-spinning to detailed embroidery, each step is a true labor of love. We take pride in celebrating artisans, preserving traditional methods, and sharing the unmatched beauty of authentic Pashmina.
It’s not just about luxury — it’s about honoring heritage, supporting skilled hands, and bringing a piece of Cashmere or Pashmina to the world.
When you love what you do, it’s reflected in every stitch.
"Our Working Process"
1. Sourcing the Raw Material (Pashmina Wool)
Origin: Pashmina wool comes from the "Chyangra Goats" found in the Himalayan regions of Nepal, Ladakh, and parts of Tibet. The fibers are extremely fine, measuring 12-17 microns in diameter, which makes Pashmina incredibly soft and warm.
Harvesting: During the spring shedding season, goats naturally lose their winter coats, and this is when the wool is collected. The process is delicate and labor-intensive, requiring the wool to be gathered by hand.
2. Cleaning nd Sorting the Wool
Cleaning: After collection, the wool is gently cleaned to remove dirt, oils, and impurities, ensuring the delicate fibers remain intact.
Sorting: The cleaned wool is then sorted by quality, with the finest fibers set aside for premium Pashmina products. This process separates the softest, thinnest fibers from the coarser ones.
Raw 3. Spinning the Wool into Yarn
Hand spinning involves the traditional art of spinning wool into fine threads, demanding great skill and patience to maintain the fibers' softness and durability.
This process transforms continuous, twisted strands of fiber into the desired yarn thickness. Traditionally, it is performed using a spinning wheel known as a Charkha, which converts large fiber cones into smaller ones suitable for handlooms.
4. Weaving the Pashmina
Traditional Weaving: Talented artisans use traditional wooden looms to weave yarn into fabric, preserving the craft's authenticity.
Techniques: Different weaving techniques, such as plain weave, twill, diamond, herringbone, and jacquard, are used to create unique patterns. Shawls, stoles, and scarves are usually crafted to be thin, lightweight, and warm.
Weaving is the stage where Pashmina fiber is shaped, sized, and designed into fabric. It is the most time-consuming and meticulous part of the entire Pashmina-making process, requiring workers to engage their entire bodies throughout.
5. Dyeing
Natural Dyes: Premium Pashmina is often dyed with natural dyes sourced from plants, minerals, and insects, adding unique and eco-friendly colors.
6. Mending
After Pashmina is dyed and dried in sunlight, it moves on to the next process called Mending. This is the quality control stage where workers inspect for errors, fix them, and create hand-twisted fringes.
7. Ironing and Packaging
The mending process nearly completes the Pashmina, but ironing prepares it for packaging with the right amount of heat and serves as a final step to detect any flaws. Ironing smooths out the fabric, removing all wrinkles.
The final step in Pashmina making involves packing the freshly ironed Pashmina into bags.
